Individual Services
Starting January 2026 (Update)
Students seeking a counselling appointment will be able to access up to 6 sessions (whether personal, educational, or career) per academic year (i.e. Sept 1 — Aug 31st) This yearly rhythm aligns with the coverage period for student health benefits, and means that each September, student session numbers reset and students have access to up to 6 more sessions for the coming year. (Please note that Crisis/Emergency Sessions involving suicidality/risk are not counted in session totals, and do not have a limit).

Crisis Support
Students in high distress and/or who may be struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide can receive same-day appointments for assessment and stabilization.
Student Success Workshops
These 20-minute, drop-in, virtual workshops are available to all students on topics such as time management, procrastination, note-taking, and learning strategies. No registration necessary! Check out the schedule here.
Counselling Groups
Students can play Therapeutic Dungeons & Dragons, a tabletop roleplaying game where you face off against the forces of evil as powerful heroes in a fantasy setting! Facilitated by a Langara counsellor, you will gain skills in communication, problem solving, empathy, teamwork, and resilience. This theoretical mode of therapy has been proven to reduce symptoms of both social anxiety and loneliness. Learn more.
